Unity Tutorial 08

Image
My time learning unity, what I have learned is that I have to appreciate the game designers or game programmers. Before I was ignorant to what actually went into creating a game or even the code to make the player in the games move. I also learned about keeping things in one folder, and just keep your C# Scripts in one folder instead of keeping all over place. This keeps everything in order and makes it quicker when comes to doing things. I found it interesting how you can use the same code for different games and in different situations and you could get the same results, just slots in perfectly. I think what I enjoyed the most with this process is completing the lessons and completing the game at the end, and feeling good about what you have created that might have taken a couple of hours to make. I also enjoyed when something didn't go well and you are trying to fix it and it can take hours to fix, however when you finally fix it you feel so good because you can feel so s

reading and writing week 9

Image
Looking back at the weeks at the readings and writing assignments I have realized my writing has became more structured and more organised than it has been before. My favourite reading so far has been the reading on growth mindset. I feel there has been a lot of ideals that I can take used for my life personally to grow as a person and I really recommend it to others. My reading notes have been helping me with my game I feel I know where everything is and could programme some small stuff. I think some of the strategies I have learned from the reading like the who what where and why and looking at the conclusion piece at the end to get an overview is something I can take and I use. I chose this image because I liked the way the image looks. I think that it was well edited and has a nice background with it. The image has a nice fade to it as well. I think looking forward I can improve my reading and writing by engaging more in the lectures a bit more when they are on.

First Playable

Hi Guys  Today I worked on my project and today I can tell you I seen progress from where I started till where I ended up at. What I did today was that I had to make the mesh or the player change colour every time I pressed play on the game to start. I did this by making a file that was called material, so that the assets place where all the files were neat and organised. When that was created, in that folder created the next step was to click in it and right click in it then go down the list to material and select it. This then gave me a round looking object. I decided to make five if theses materials and name them each by the colour I wanted them to be. After making these material colours and linking it to the mesh, now when I press play it changes colour either from red to green to pink or even blue. Now what I did next was make the food randomer. I did that code for that by following a YouTube video. From this I code I could make food come out randomly. Since the youtube video w

Game Fun

Image
T oday we looked at how fun plays a part in games and the definition of what fun is and learned how to make games fun by making the player think about what to do in order to get through . Games can be described by the 3 components Mechanics, dynamics, and aesthetics (MDA) or otherwise stated as rules – system – “fun” . MDA There are eight types of Fun outlined by the MDA. These eight are both a source of reference and player experience that blend together in many ways, and essentially what makes a game fun and enjoyable. Eight kinds of Fun To date, the MDA papers define the '8 kinds of fun' sensation, fantasy, narrative, challenge, fellowship, discovery, expression, and submission , remain a source of reference and possibly the most popular list of player interactions combining in various forms to attract each player to a particular game. Fun “Fun is a byproduct of good design. It is also not essential for a good gamified system,” by
